Only a week after our first victory in the Carlisle Netball League, we’re incredibly thrilled to bring you the news that Penrith Netball Club is the 2021 Winner of the Community Club of the Year Award. This award is one of various Cumbria Sports Awards, organised by Active Cumbria, and recognises a Club that provides quality sporting/active opportunities for people in the local area.

Due to the ongoing C-19 restrictions, there was no in-person awards evening; instead, all winners are being announced live on BBC Radio Cumbria’s breakfast show with Mike Zeller. Harriet Holme, Club Secretary, was thrilled to accept the award on behalf of the Club – an award which is a testament to the strength of our membership group and supporters and the positive attitude and community spirit each and every one of you brings.

Thanks are given to Georgia Stanway (Manchester City & England football star) who announced Penrith Netball Club as the winner, and to the judging panel who awarded us Community Club of the Year – we are incredibly grateful and proud to receive it.
