2023 AGM Round-Up

The 2023 Club AGM took place on Thursday 08 June 2023 at UCC Sports Hall. We would like to thank everyone who came out to lend their voices and opinions to the meeting – it is much appreciated. The meeting opened with a welcome from club chair, Caroline Tyson, who also read the financial report in lieu of club treasurer, Cara Watson, who sent apologies for absence.  Headlines Fee increases for 2023-2024 season Recap of 2022-2023 season given by Caroline Tyson Election of officers   Fee Increases As a result of the financial report, it has been established that membership and training fees must increase for next season in order to cover club costs.It was agreed that annual membership fees will increase to: £25.00 (Seniors), £20.00 (Junior 1/2), £15.00 (Bees). Training fees will increase to: £4.00 per session (Seniors), £3.50 per session (Junior 1/2), £3.00 per session (Bees). League fees are to remain at £3.00 per match, though the driver reimbursement payments will no longer be offered. This will come into effect from 01 September 2023. 2022-2023 Recap It was noted that all junior sections have had a strong season and the coaches have noted huge improvements in all players. The introduction of Bee Netball has been a great addition to the club too. The Junior 1s and 2s have been successful in their competitive matches, and there are plans to take match play opportunities further in the next season. The senior group has also had a strong year, with a strong sense of identity developing across the group and wider club, which is a great positive step. It was also mentioned that both the Swifts and Lakers teams have had huge success this season, with Swifts taking the CNL Div II title during the winter season, and Lakers showing huge improvements and development over the course of their matches. Options have been provided for older juniors to grow into the Lakers squad too, and this has been met positively. Election of Officers The following officers were elected/relected for another term: Club Chair: Caroline Tyson (re-elected) Club Secretary: Harriet Holme (re-elected) Club Treasurer: Natalie Edmondson Club Safeguarding Officer: Eleanor Holme (re-elected) Fundraising and Social Officers: Katie Blackburn & Ruth Chamberlain   The date for next year’s AGM was set at the end of the meeting as Thursday 29 August 2024.
